Ordering & Personalisation Guide

Creating your personalised badge, rosette or sash is simple, and this guide explains everything you need to know before placing your order. Following these recommendations will help ensure your finished product looks exactly as you imagined.

Although the ordering process is similar for all products, there are a few points that are specific to each item.

Badges & Rosettes

Deciding on Your Text

You're welcome to use as many words as you like, but keep in mind that the printable area is limited. The more text you include, the smaller it will need to be.

Because badges and rosette centres are circular, wording placed around the top or bottom edge has less available space than text across the middle.

If you're looking for inspiration, our wording ideas page contains plenty of popular examples.

Choosing Your Colours

Our badges and rosette centres are produced using laser printing, so we're unable to guarantee exact Pantone colour matches.

You can personalise any of our standard designs by selecting the ribbon and background colours that best suit your event.

Adding a Photograph

If you'd like a photo included, simply upload it during the ordering process.

For the best print quality, please provide the highest-resolution image available.

Please also make sure the subject is fully visible. For example, avoid photographs where heads, ears or chins have been cropped, as we can only reproduce the image exactly as supplied.

Proofs & Previews

To keep production times as quick as possible, we don't normally send artwork proofs for our standard designs.

If you're supplying your own completed artwork, we'll print it exactly as received, so a proof is generally unnecessary.

For rosettes, our online preview tool allows you to experiment with ribbon colour combinations before ordering. As there are thousands of possible colour combinations, it's not practical for us to provide photographs of every option.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Before placing your order, it's worth checking for these common issues:

  • Including too much wording, making the text difficult to read.
  • Using logos or images downloaded from the internet without permission. Copyright restrictions may mean we have to cancel your order.
  • Sending artwork without checking spelling, layout or readability at its final printed size (rosette centres measure 57mm in diameter).
  • Choosing dark text on a dark background without adding a contrasting outline.
  • Cropping photographs into a circle before sending them. We require the original full image so it can be correctly positioned on the finished badge. If you have a preferred crop, you're welcome to send an additional reference image showing how you'd like it framed.

Sashes

Choosing Your Wording

There's no fixed word limit, but shorter messages usually create the greatest impact.

When worn, the most visible section of a sash is approximately 50cm long. Since our sashes are 100mm wide, one or two lines of text generally provide the clearest and most attractive result.

Selecting Colours

Choose from our range of sash colours to suit your event.

For maximum readability, we recommend avoiding dark lettering on darker sash colours such as black, navy or purple.

Adding a Logo

A logo can be printed on your sash provided it is a single-colour design.

The logo will be printed in the same colour as the wording.

Please note that we cannot reproduce logos in multiple colours or match specific Pantone shades.

Proofs

For simple text-only sashes, proofs are not normally supplied, allowing us to process orders more quickly.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

The most frequent issues we see are:

  • Requesting fonts that aren't licensed for commercial use.
  • Trying to fit too much wording onto the sash, reducing its overall impact and readability.
